Junior Scholarships – Henry’s Story

Junior scholarship Henry's story0Henry first came to McLeod in September’s McLeod Junior Holiday Clinic and started his scholarship in January. His golf has improved out of sight in the last 6 months.

Henry has impressed everyone who has seen him play, with his technically sound swing and his great attitude to golf.

Despite playing golf for just a short period of time, Henry represented McLeod Country Golf Club in this years Pee Wee Pennants competing against Juniors from other clubs, often twice his age and size. Henry exceeded expectation both with is golf game and his behaviour on the course.

When asked about his favourite part of the McLeod Junior Scholarship Henry replied with, “I love the Golf Lessons! Putting is my favourite.”
“We want to thank McLeod and the Junior Committee for providing Henry with his scholarship. We were not expecting it and are very appreciative. Henry has loved it,” Henry’s father Dave said.
Henry has participated in McLeod’s Saturday Junior Clinics as part of his Scholarship. His coach is McLeod Junior Coordinator and PGA Professional Drew McLellan.

“Henry is a natural,” McLellan stated. “His swing is very impressive for being so young and only recently taken up the game. Everyone here at McLeod is very impressed, and eager to watch Henry’s game develop.

“Thanks to the Junior Scholarship at McLeod Ethan has discovered a real passion for the game of golf…which is exciting for him and me. Sak and Drew have been working with Ethan for a few months now and it is a testament to their communication skills and teaching abilities to see just how quickly Ethan is developing his golf swing….we could not have asked for better coaching, they are genuinely invested in proving Ethan with the opportunity to learn and love the game of golf.” – Ethan’s Father, David, said.
